Samye
The Temple of Samye (bSam-yas) is the oldest temple Bouddhiste of Tibet, it was set up towards the end of the 8th century and was founded by Padmasambhava. The temple has a circular palisade containing several small temples. Samye is a very important place crowned for the pilgrimages Tibetans. It is located at approximately 4 hours of bus (approximately 120 km in south-east) of the capital of the Tibet, Lhassa. It is in a restricted tourist area controlled by Beijing.
In May 2007, the Center Tibetan for the Human rights and the Democracy (TCHRD) affirms that the Chinese armed police force demolished a colossal statue of Padmasambhava to the monastery of Samye and that the blocks of the destruction of the statue were transported in an unknown place. The statue had been built with the funds of liberally given by two impassioned Chinese of the industrialized city of the continent of Guangzhou in the province of Guangdong.
History
Trisong Detsen (704? - 797), 38e king of the Tibet established the Bouddhisme to with it. It is under its reign, in 779, which was founded by Shantarakshita and Padmasambhava Samye , first Buddhist monastery with the Tibet.
The Indian monk Shantarakshita, whose teaching was based on the Soutra S, had chosen the site of Samye to build a monastery there. Nevertheless, arrived at a certain height, construction collapsed. New attempts were not more profitable. At this point in time arrived at Tibet Padmasambhava, main Indian of the Buddhism tantric. It completed the construction of the monastery founded in 779. The king Trisong Detsen organized a philosophical debate between holding of Indian Buddhism and Chinese which clashed. In 792, at the conclusion of the debate reported by Paul Pelliot under the name of council of Lhassa, Indian Buddhism carried it. Also, Trisong Detsen declared Buddhism religion of state to the Tibet in the presence of Padmasambhava and its parédre (mystical wife) Yeshe Tsogyal, of Shantarakshita and Vimalamitra, as well as many translators of which Vairocana.
