Samus Aran
Samus Aran is the character controlled by the player in all the video games of the series Metroid , its design was made by Hiroji Kiyotake.
Biography
At the time of its young childhood, Samus lived with his/her parents on a planet (K-2L) which was attacked by Pirates space carried out by Ridley which killed the parents of the child. The young girl, only surviving of her colony, was collected by of Chozos, advanced people semi-man alive semi-bird on a close planet: Zebes. It passed all its youth there, learning from these wise and intelligent people which taught all his knowledge to him. When it decided to leave Chozos, those gave him a gift of good-bye which would be very useful for him being given its fixed goals (to avenge his/her parents by exterminating the pirates for L spaces): its armor, the Costume of Power (being able to be improved by the Costume Varied, of Gravity…), resistant to hostile environments and in which circulates of the blood of Chozos. It is what it was necessary for him to go to protect the universe and to avenge its family for the pirates for space for which she has a great hatred.
Samus will then join the Intergalactic Federation while being initially made pass for a robot. Thus it will be sent on Zebes in order to destroy the Métroïds, a strange species created by Chozos, which became a threat whereas they were controlled by Mother Brain, chief of the pirates of space. The mission was a success, but Samus was intercepted by the vessel-mother of the Pirates of Space while fleeing of Zebès. She succeeds, without combination and army of a simple gun, to survive and find a new Costume of Power. After this Samus success on planet SR-388 in order to éradiquer all Métroids populating will be sent its surface, to prevent that the Pirates of space do not make use of it again. Once the Métroid Queen exterminated, Samus saw a larva Métroïd then to hatch in front of it, taking it instantaneously for her mother. Samus decided to leave him the life and to bring back it on the station of Cerès studies. The scientists of the Federation discovered that Metroids were an quasi-inexhaustible energy source. The station was tackled some time afterwards by Ridley, which, in spite of the intervention of Samus, stole the larva. Samus returned on Zebès, where the Pirates had rebuilt their base. The larva métroid was used by Ridley for réscussiter Mother Brain, with which one grafted a giant cybernetic body. Attacked by this frightening adversary, Samus had its safety only with the larva métroide, which aspired the energy of Mother Brain to regenerate the chasseuse one of premium. Samus flees of speed, and the Zebès planet exploded. Some time later, heroin contracted a deadly virus while coming into contact with a parasite X on SR388 but it was saved by a vaccine prepared starting from an original cell of métroide. However, this vaccine modified its costume of power and made it cold sensitive but being protected by its costume from power as soon as it had downloaded it.
In the following adventures, it went on Tallon IV (after the first episode of Metroid) where a frigate of the pirates of space that it had infiltrated is crushed after it had exploded the heart of the engine of this frigate, which enabled him to discover that the pirates of space made experiments with a new substance which they had found on the majority of the animals of this planet. This substance called Phazon is very radioactive and as soon as an animal is in contact with radiations of this substance it starts to transfer in horrible sufferings.
Throughout its stay Heel IV, she discovers the atrocities which the pirates of space subjected to with the creatures autochtones and their own recruits (become of gigantic mutant pirates, of which the pirate omega who, while falling on Samus inoculates the virus of the Phazon Combination to him which makes it possible chasseuse of premium to resist the effects of the blue phazon) and begins a search to find the artefacts of the temple that Chozos drew up to protect Tallon IV from what is in the crater. She recovers the 12 artefacts which make it possible to open the temple chozo protecting the access to the crater from the meteor having caused the appearance of Phazon… But before opening the temple, it makes the meeting of a very old enemy: Ridley (become Méta-Ridley thanks to mechanical implants) which it will have to fight before being able to enter the temple where Metroïd Prime rests, last evolution of forgotten Metroid which was exposed too much a long time in most toxic Phazon of Heel IV.
At the end of the combat, Samus is grabbed by a tentacle of the éthérée form of Metroïd Prime which tries an ultimate attack. The tentacle carries with him the combination Phazon de Samus (it kept the combination of gravity however) before evacuated crater. In Metroid Precedes 2: Echoes, Samus must seek the causes of the death of several military units of the Galactic Federation, but meanwhile, it meets Luminoth named U-mos, the only one as of his which was not plunged in an artificial coma and which explains to Samus why it is taken in a war between Luminoth and Ings (" guerrier" in language luminoth), and which it will have to help them to be able to start from this planet of which stormy atmosphere (because of its double: Ether sinks) prevents it from setting out again with its vessel, which was damaged by this same atmosphere when it arrived on planet. While driving out Ings and the Pirates who had been installed on Ether because of the Federation, it itself is driven out by Dark Samus. It is in fact Metroid Prime which took again life by taking the combination Phazon de Samus. Dark Samus is neither a man, nor a woman, it is the double of Samus because it absorbed the DNA of the costume of phazon which samus carried. Dark Samus was undoubtedly brought on Ether because of Phazon present on planet and perhaps by the desire of a revenge against Samus.
Thus the young woman continues to fight against Métroïdes, Mother Brain, Ridley, Kraid and several enemies of peace. Proudly carrying its costume provided with a powerful gun, it fights only under the orders of its superiors, regarding his work as a personal business. It will lead a spaceship having the conscience of one of its former superiors, Adam Malkovich for whom it had much regard in spite of his difficulty of agreeing to be directed. Since this death, Samus is directed by another man of the more serious and rational Galactic Federation which will supervise it by far in its missions to safeguard the order and the universal good. And, contrary to this one, Samus will always prefer to only work.
Samus Aran in Metroid
It appears for the first time in 1986 in Metroid where it must face Mother Brain, then in 1992 on Gameboy with Metroid II, return off Samus where this time, they all are the métroïdes of planet SR-388 which will be presented to it in forms increasingly advanced and thus increasingly dangerous that it will owe éradiquer. It is only in 1994, with Super Metroid which it acquires its noble letters while evolving/moving in a play considered as one the most led of of the console.
It follows one long period of absence which is enclosed in 2002 with the exit on Game Boy Advance of Metroid Fusion where it is saved parasite X thanks to a vaccine containing métroïde, followed year later by Metroid Prime which is held before the events reported in Super Metroïd . Since this last, the episodes do not follow any more the chronology.
Metroid Zero Mission in 2004 is an adaptation of Metroïd first of the name on Game Boy Advance and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes the same year makes evolve/move Samus in an intrigue where it will come into contact with new race-protagonists. Zero Mission is different with its scene from infiltration not only stressing for the player but important for the series. The pirate vessels having made fire on the vessel of Samus are those which will go on Tallon IV in Metroid Prime. However, the vessel-mother of Ridley is not Wrecked ship, the wreck haunted by Phantoon, one of the four chiefs in the hierarchy of Mother Brain with Ridley, Kraid and Draygon. Indeed, Wrecked is a vessel of an old race which was failed on Zèbes while Samus exterminated the métroïdes on SR-388.
The most recent plays of the series: Metroid Precedes Hunters in 2006 and Metroid Prime Pinball in 2005 in the USA corresponds each one to a rupture with the ludic charter of the preceding episodes by proposing radically different gameplay: for the first it is about a FPS centered on the action and giving up the contemplative key suitable for the series, and the second is a play of flipper where Samus incarnates the ball. However, the gameplay of the series Metroid Prime is of return in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption left on the console “Wii”.
Samus Aran in Super Bros Smash.
It also should be noted that Samus appears as a distinguished guest in several Nintendo plays or are gathered the majority of the characters belonging to the firm. One can quote Super Bros Smash. , Super Bros Smash. Fray and soon Super Bros Smash. Brawl or it would be playable for the first time without its famous costume. Note: The first time that Samus appeared in 3D was in the play Super Bros Smash. on N64. Auncun opus of the Métroïd series did not leave on this console.
