Samuel Warren Carey (Campbelltown, News-Wales-of-South, Australia 1911 - March 20th 2002) was a Australian Géologue which was one of the first defenders of the theory of the continental drift. Its work on the Tectonic plates led it to work out the theory of the terrestrial Expansion.
Carey was lieutenant during the Second world war in the unit of the special forces " Z Force" , developing a daring technique using of small teams to mine the ships in an enemy port. This operation (Scorpion) became obsolete but Carey tested its technique secretly by infiltrating the port of Townsville while placing small factitious mines on American ships.
Sam Carey was a contributor of geology highly considered and its many contributions to the emergent theories and its proposals were often advances some on the accepted sights of the time.
