Machin is a group of folk-rock'n'roll inhabitant of Franche-Comté.
The group plays of the pieces of its composition, mixing rhythmic rock'n'roll and traditional instruments. The texts draw as much from the traditional folklore as in the modern life, but while always remaining in a “country” context. The near total of the songs are parodic and humorous, on a tone sometimes squeaking even for the serious subjects, but always in a spirit trucculent.

History

Created in 1975, the group will find its form final in 1976: Jean-Pierre Robert, Jean-Paul Simonin, Gilles Kusmerück and Tony Carbonare. The lyric writer Angel Carriqui signs all the texts.

This same year, Machin signs a contract of edition, directly followed first disc Me I am a folkeux . In parallel, the musicians work with Hubert-Felix Thiéfaine. The second album, All folkant , leaves in 1977, at the same time as the recording of the first album of Thiéfaine.

The group starts with much turning and also devotes much time to the concerts of Thiéfaine. 1978 sees the exit of the second album of followed Thiéfaine, in 1979, of the third album of Thing, Ras the folk .

In 1980 leaves a compilation Thing, follow-up of the third album of Thiéfaine. The management of the two groups becomes too heavy and Thing decides to stop, in spite of a project of fourth album.

In 1998, the group is reconstituted at the request of their friend Thiéfaine, to play with him with Bercy. Tony Carbonare decides to stop playing with Thiéfaine in 1999 and proposes with his friends to take again the Machin group. They accept and take again the repetitions.

The vinyls not having never been republished out of CD, the group leaves a compilation twenty-five titles in 2003. The few titles not having found place on CD will be in free loading on their site: the entirety of the repertory of the group is again available.

In 2005, left a disc as a public.
