Samuel Eliot Morison , Rear Admiral , reserve officer (July 9th 1887 - May 15th 1976) was an American historian , recognized for its work concerning the maritime history. As sailor and academic, Morison collected many distinctions, including two Prix Pulitzer, two Prix Bancroft, and the Presidential Medal off Freedom .
