Samuel Ray Delany Junior , born on April 1st 1942 with New York (E. - U.) is a critic and a novelist of Science-fiction of origin Afro-American.

Biography

Born in a family from the black middle-class of Harlem of a father who was owner of a funeral parlor, he marries at the eighteen years age the poetess Marilyn Hacker, which has the same age. They have a girl and divorce in 1979. In its Autobiographie of 1988, The Motion off Light in Toilets , Delany does not hide that he prefers the sexual relationships with the men. It becomes titular of a pulpit of comparative literature with the university of Massachusetts in 1988. Since 2001, he teaches with the Temple University of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
