Samuel Boden
Samuel Standidge Boden (1826 - 1882) was a player of failures professional English. Paul Morphy was of opinion that Boden was the strongest English player, even if Barnes had better results against him that Boden.

August 1st The diagram of the chechmate of Boden was baptized following its appearance in one of its parts, against Schuler, with London, in 1853.An alternative of the Défense Philidor also bears its name, following the one of its parts against Paul Morphy
