Samson and Dalila

Samson and Dalila is a opera French composed by Camille Saint-Saëns on a booklet of Ferdinand Lemaire. The first (creation in German) took place with the theater of the large-ducal Court of Weimar, the December 2nd 1877.
Based on the biblical episode of the seduction of Samson by Dalila, it is the only opera of Saint-Saëns still registered with the repertory although foreign scenes give it regularly and in particular the Met, to announce that the yellow Princess is regularly given also like Henry VIII, to this discograhie it will be appropriate to add Helene whose recording is in hand at Melba Records.
