Sami Al-Hinnawi

Sami Al-Hinnawi (1898 - 1950) (Arab: محمدساميحلميالحناوي) is a soldier and a politician Syria N.

Colonel Al-Hinnawi reversed by a Coup d'etat the president Husni Al-Zaim, in April 1949. He did it following the execution of the president-founder of the Parti social nationalist Syrian Antoun Saadé that Zaim was to protect. It is with the assistance of member of the PSNS and Adib Chichakli that Al-Hinnawi proceeds to the coup d'etat. As a president it makes assassinate the members of the government who responsible for died for Saadé, it makes carry out Zaim and its Prime Minister Muhsen Al-Barazi in a prison of Damas.

He then becomes the chief of a military junta, but Chichakli remains the strong man of the mode. During the same year 1949, Chichakli reverses it and becomes president. It is then constrained with the exile, it dies in Beirut the October 31st 1950, assassinated by the cousin of the Barazi Prime Minister.
