Samantha Carter is a character of the universe of fiction of the Televised series Stargate SG-1 , interpreted by the actress Amanda Tapping.

Its history

Samantha Carter is a brilliant scientific officer and a specialist in Astrophysique which works for the Pentagone. His/her father, Jacob Casing, was general in the American Air force. His/her mother died in an car accident when it was teenager - a drama which contributed to envenimer its relations with his/her father and his Mark brother. Sam always wanted to become astronaut, but after the suspension of the program of the space shuttle, it moved on the traces of her father, towards the Air force. But its genius naturally pushed it to work for the Stargate program, although it could not take part in the first voyage. It spent several years to study the reports/ratios of the first mission through the Porte of the stars in direction of Abydos. When SGC decided to reactivate the program Stargate after an attack of the Goa' uld Apophis, Sam was assigned with the team which was sent on Abydos to inquire into the origin of the attack. As of its return of mission, after having established that the Door of stars connected more than only two planets (Earth and Abydos) it was assigned with one of the first 9 teams of the SGC, the team SG-1. Some time later, Sam became temporarily the host of the Tok' ruffle Jolinar de Malkshur. This short moment under the control of a symbion involved genetic modifications which enabled him to use technologies Goa' ulds. The father of Sam, Jacob, became him also the host of Tok' ruffle Selmak to cure his cancer in final phase there after a mission on P34-353J.

Its studies

Casing devoted its life to work. It followed the traces of her father by integrating the US Air Force academy, where it studied under the direction of the Kerrigan general and professor Monroe. Casing is an officer except par. It passed more than 100 hours in enemy territory during the war of the Gulf. It took part in bombardments simulated on F-16. Casing became the officer as a chief of SG-1. In 2007, it is promoted colonel and takes the head of Atlantis forwarding.
