Sam Phillips

Sam Phillips (born the January 5th 1923 and dead the July 30th 2003) was a producer and American discoverer of Musique .

Biography

Sam Phillips is the junior by a family cash eight brothers and sisters. It grew in a farm with Florence, Alabama. With the college it has already the fabric of a leader of troop. Its qualities impress the director of the local station WLAY, which offers a station with responsibility to him.

The December 4th 1956, whereas Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins are in studio for enregister, unloads Elvis Presley and they begin an improvisation that Philips will not fail to put on tapes, but the disc will leave only many years later under the name of The Million Dollar Four-bit byte .

In 1969, Sam Phillips sells Sun Records with Shelby Singleton.

In 1986, Sam Phillips is introduced with the Rock' roll Hall off Famed and in 2001 its name will appear in the Country Music Hall off Famed.

He dies at the 80 years age in 2003.
