Salyut 2

Salyut 2 was launched the April 4th 1973. It did not form really part of the other space stations Salyut, being in the place the top secret space station Almaz. It to him was given the identifier Salyut 2 to dissimulate its true nature. In spite of a successful launch, after two days Salyut 2 , always unoccupied, started to lose pressure and its controller of flight broke down. The cause of the breakdown is surely due to remains which bored the station and probably coming from the explosion of the last stage of the Fusée Proton which placed in orbit Salyut 2 . The April 11th the station lost four solar panels and any power supply. Salyut 2 penetrated in the atmosphere the May 28th 1973.
