The air cells are, in the Poumon S, the places where the gaseous exchange is done between the Air and the Sang. They are located at the ends of the Bronchiole S. They belong to the air Routes intrathoracic.

The interior of the air cell at the human ones is composed of alveolar air, its walls are impregnated of water and air.

There exists an interface liquid-gas sits of a surface Tension: the cells can beings seen at first approximation like gas bubbles in a liquid.

In a normal state, the liquid papering the interior of the cells contains a surface-active substance: the pulmonary Surfactant .

There exist transportation routes between the pulmonary cells, acinus, lobules and even segments. One finds 3 kinds of them:

Channels of Martin: who make communicate two bronchioles between them. Channels of Lambert: bronchoalveolar connections having a diameter of approximately 30 microns. Pores of Köhn: communication interalvéolaires of a diameter of 3 microns.
