Salome is an American film carried out by William Dieterle, left in 1953.

Synopsis

Under the reign of the emperor Tibère, the prophet galiléen Jean the Baptist sermon against the king Hérode Antipas and its wife, ex-wife of her brother, the queen Hérodiade (Herodias, in English). This one wishes the death of the preacher, but Hérode fears to harm to him because of a prophecy. Arrive the beautiful princess Salome, girl of Hérodiade. Covetousness incipient from the king for his daughter-in-law and Salome niece will be used by Hérodiade to make fold the king with his desires. But Salome and her Claudius lover are very ready to convert with the new religion (NdR: this does not correspond to the Writings). And the dance at its critical time, proves to have unexpected implications…
