Salmas
Salmas or Salamas سلماس is a town of Iran located in the province of the Azerbaijan-e-gharbi.
The city provides an agricultural production, in particular dry apricots.
It is in this city that was assassinated in March 1918 the patriarch of the Assyrian apostolic Église of the East, Mar Simon XIX Benjamin, by a paramilitary group Kurdish.
