Salisbury (Connecticut)

Salisbury is a city located in the Comté of Litchfield, in the State of the Connecticut (the United States). According to the census of 2000, Salisbury had a total population of 3.977 inhabitants.

Geography

According to the Office of the census of the United States, surface of the east city of 155,6 km ², including 148,5 km ² of grounds and 7,1 km ² of water levels (either 4,59%).

Demography

According to the Census of 2000, there was 3 977 inhabitants, 1 737 households, and 1 042 families in the city. The Population density was of 26,8 hab/km ². There was 2 410 houses with a density of 16,2 maisons/km ². The ethnic composition of the population was: 95,75% white; 1,66% black; 0,33% Amerindian; 0,96% Asian S; 0,00% natives of the islands of the Peaceful ; 0,45% of the other races; 0,85% of two or more races. 1,53% of the population were Hispanique or Latino of any race.

There was 1 737 households, of which 25,5% had children of less than 18 years, 50,4% were married couples , 7,2% had a woman who was isolated relative, and 40,0% were not-family households. 33,7% of the households were made up people alone and 15,3% 65 years people alone or more. The average household comprised 2,19 people and the average family had 2,81 people.
