Salima Ghezali
Salima Ghezali is a Journaliste - writer Algerian, born in 1958 with Bouira in Kabylie.
Founding member of Women of Europe and the Maghreb , president of association for the emancipation of the woman, editor association of the female magazine NYSSA , which it founded, and editor of the French-speaking Hebdomadaire the Nation, Salima Hezali is militant women's rights then human rights and democracy in Algeria.
Its position for the Freedom of expression exposes it to the cross shootings of the Algerian authorities and the extremists Islamiste S, in particular during the Algerian Civil war where she preaches a peaceful solution and democratic.
In 1996, at the moment when its newspaper " Nation" was prohibited, Salima Ghezali wrote: “ It is necessary to point out the principles which constitute the bases of the human society and to make reign vigilance. It is the best manner of making so that civilization triumphs over cruelty. ”
In 1997, Salima Ghezali is the prize winner of the Prix Sakharov.
