Salic law (patience)
Here a patience extracted the Book of patiences of the marchioness of Fortia, published about 1840 and which is the first work known on the subject.
In this patience, as in the law of the same name (which governs the transmission of the title of King de France), the ladies are not taken into account.
Rules of the game
The success is played with 2 sets of 52 charts.
Goal of the play
The goal of the play is to compose of the series, which go from the Ace to the Servant.
Installation
Initially, one of the eight Kings left the play and is posed on the table.
Unfolding
The remaining charts are taken and one turns over them the ones after the others:

the Ladies are isolated; one aligns them in lower part of the Kings,
- the Aces make it possible to begin series, and will be placed on a line at the top of the Kings,
- the Kings are posed on the right Kings already left,
- the other charts are piled up on the King on the right.
Constantly, the following actions are possible:

to supplement a series with a chart taken on the top of the pile of a King. The series are done independently of the color. Example: 2 of heart on Ace of spade, then 3, then 4…
- to move the chart of the top of the pile of one of the Kings on a King not covered.
End of part
The success is gained if, at the end of the package, the eight series Have-Servant can be supplemented.
