Salbutamol
The salbutamol (DCI) is a agonist of the receivers β2-adrenergic at short duration of action used in the relief of the bronchospasmes in states the such Asthme and the obstructive chronic broncho-pneumonopathies.
The sulfate of salbutamol is in general managed in the form of inhalations to obtain a direct effect on the smooth muscles of the Bronche S. This is in general carried out in the form of a Aerosol-batcher or atomizer; but one meets the other sulfate shapes of salbutamol the such Rotahaler, the Diskhaler, and the Autohaler. The salbutamol can also be managed by oral way or Intraveineuse.
Clinical use
- Crisis of Asthma.
- acute Asthme engraves, in Nébulisation with the mask or by parenteral Voie.
- obstructive chronic Bronchitis with reversible spastic component (BPCO: obstructive chronic broncho-pneumonopathy)
- Asthma of effort.
- Under certain condition, in the event of Hyperkaliémie
As a agonist β2, the salbutamol is also used in obstetrics (by way Inter-F) to delay a premature work by releasing the uterine smooth muscles.
It is also doping. The racing cyclist Alessandro Petacchi was positive control with this drug at the time of the Tour of Italy 2007. July 24th, 2007 Alessandro Petacchi was discharged by Italian justice. (source: the TV team).
Ace has β2-agonist, salbutamol also finds uses in Obstetrics. Intravenous salbutamol edge Be used ace has tocolytic to relaxed the uterine Smooth muscle to delay Premature ploughing. Whilst preferred over agents such ace Atosiban and Ritodrine, its role has largely been replaced by the calcium-Chanel blocker Nifédipine which is more effective, better tolerated and orally effective. Mechanism of action
Stimulation of the receivers beta-2 of the bronchial walls.2-adrenergic receptor agonists, salbutamol binds to β2-adrenergic receptors with has higher affinity than β1-receptors. In the airways, activation off β2-receptors results in relieving off bronchial Smooth muscle. resulting in has widening off the airway (Bronchodilation). Inhaled salbutamol sulfate has rapid onset off action, providing relief within 5-15 minutes off administration.
In tocolysis, the activation off β2-receptors results in relieving off uterine smooth muscle, thus delaying ploughing. -->
Side effects
Tachycardia, palpitations, excitation, tremors, risk of habituation, rebound effect in the event of too brutal stop of the treatment. Theophylline, like all medications there exists the potential for unfavourable drug reactions to occur - especially when in high amounts, gold when taken orally gold intravenously.Unfavourable Common effects include: Tremor, Palpitations and headache. (Rossi, 2004)
Unfavourable Infrequent effects include: Tachycardia, muscle Cramp S, agitation, Hypokalemia, hyperactivity in children, and Insomnia. (Rossi, 2004)-->
