Salazar Serpentard

Salazar Serpentard is a character of the universe of the novels of Harry Potter written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling. The author makes of it the first time mention in Harry Potter and the room of the secrecies, in Chapter 9.

This name is resulting from the French translation, the original name of the character being Salazar Slytherin .

Salazar Serpentard is the founder of the Serpentard house and cofounder of the school of sorcery Poudlard with the three other wizards and witch of his time, approximately thousand years ago:

At the beginning, the four founders coexisted in peace, but very quickly, there were dissensions: Serpentard wanted a selection more strict of the pupils by accepting only those with the " blood pur" , while the three others wanted to accommodate all the wizards. Serpentard left the school after having created the Chambre of the secrecies which can be open only by its “worthy successor” so as to eliminate all the “Blood-with-bourbe”. It hid there a Basilic, a monster intended to help its heir with " épurer" Poudlard.

One can as note as Salazar Serpentard was a Fourchelang, it is called besides for that Language-of-Snake

Salazar Serpentard is ascending of Voldemort.

The name of Serpentard, Salazar, can make think of that António de Oliveira Salazar, the Portuguese dictator. It is known for example that J.K Rowling lived a few years in Portugal.
