Saipa
SAIPA سایپا is the second car manufacturer Iran IEN, pertaining to the Ministry for Industry (IDRO). The acronym means Iranian Public limit company of Automobile Production . Before becoming Saipa in 1976, it was the Iranian subsidiary company of Citroen established in 1966.
Saipa currently produces in partnership with Citroen the Xantia starting from CKD, sold with approximately 12.000 specimens per annum. Saipa is also partner of Kia (group Hyundai) for the production of many vehicles, in particular the Carvan and Rio, as well as the Kia Pride (Sheba), as well as Nissan for cross-country Patrol I.
In the years to come, Saipa announces the production of C5, C4 as well as a version limousine, and Renault Logan under the name of Tondar-90 (coproduction with Iran Khodro). Since 2006, Saipa assembles the Mégane tri-body.
For the first time, in 2006, Saipa exceeded Iran Khodro in terms of commercial results in Iran.
Saipa exports primarily towards the adjoining countries: Sudan, Egypt, Arménie, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Syria.
Saipa has 51% of the manufacturer Pars Khodro, to whom it yielded the license of production of Sepand (first generation of Renault 5). Saipa assembled this model since 1976.
