Saint-love (the Jura)

Saint-Love is a common French, located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.
Its inhabitants are the Saint-Amourains and the Saint-Amouraines .
Geography
Located at the extreme south-west of the area of Franche-Comté, Saint-Love occupies the first slopes of the Jurassic massive while overflowing on the plain bressane near. Saint-love is to 28 km of Borough-in-Bresse, 33 km of Lons-the-Salt maker, 90 km of Lyon, 125 km of Besancon, 130 km of Dijon and 95 km of Geneva.
History
In 585, Gontran_Ier grandson of Clovis, king de Bourgogne, made build with Vincennes-the-Pretty which was not whereas a village, a church intended to shelter the relics of Saint-Amator and Saint-Viator: Christian soldiers of the legion thebaine massacred with Saint-Maurice d' Agaune in the Were worth Swiss. The guard of the relics was entrusted to monks who established a monastery close to the church. The miracles allotted to the relics attracted many pilgrims in the village which developed around its church. The successors of Gontran gave this stronghold to the bishop of Saint-Vincent-of-Mâcon: this one made build a castle and walls for the defense of the borough, which with the wire of the centuries, took the name of Saint-Love.

Political tendency
For the referendum on the European Constitution, on May 29th, 2005, the voters of Saint-Love voted to 58,85% in favor of “not” and to 41,15% for “yes” while 32,62% abstained from.At the 1st turn of the presidential election of 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy arrives at the head with 29,13% of the votes cast, follow-up of Ségolène Royal with 27,49%, Francois Bayrou with 15,97% and Jean-Marie Le Pen with 11,51%. Rate of participation reaches 85,41%.
With the 2nd turn of the presidential election of 2007, Saint-Amourains voted to 51,16% for Nicolas Sarkozy and 48,84% for Ségolène Royal. Rate of participation is of 85,29%.

In 2004, unemployment rate amounts to 8,6% of the active population and the average revenue by household with 14.060 €/an.

Personalities related to the commune
- Claude Marie Miller, General of the First Empire, Baron, Born with Saint-Love in 1770, died in Paris in 1846. Son-in-law of the painter David, his name is registered on the Triumphal arch of Star with Paris.Jean Luc Colin.

Lucien Febvre, born with Nancy in 1878, was large impassioned of the Franche-Comté for which it devotes its thesis " to it; Philippe II and the Frankone;. With Marc Bloch, it contributes to famous of the French Historical School by creating in 1929 Annals of Modern history and Sociale. It will become then deputy France with UNESCO (1945 - 1950). It is since its property of Souget with Saint-Love that he will write most of his work in which he will specify his design of a history which must analyze the economic and social structures while integrating the technical and mental transformations. He will die and will be buried with Saint-Love in 1956. The college of the city bears its name today.

Marcel Moyse, born with Saint-Love on May 17th 1889, deceased in Bratteleboro (the USA) on November 1st 1984. Flutist of world famous. He is buried with the cemetery of Saint-Love.
