Saint-Trond (in Dutch Sint-Truiden , in Limbourgeois Sintruin , in the past Saint-Tron) is a common city and Dutch-speaking of Belgium located in Flemish Région in the province of Limbourg.

At July 1st 2004, the total population of this commune was of 37  837 inhabitants (18.669 men and 19.168 women). The total surface area is of 106,90 km ².

History

Saint-Trond was created in 693 per H. Trudo. He installed an abbey always present there in the center town. The city was one of the 23 Bonnes Cities of the principality of Liege. August 9th, 1914, the brigades of the hussards of the guard of the German imperial army passed by the weapons 20 civilians and destroyed an unspecified number of houses at the time of the German Atrocités made at the beginning of the invasion.
