Saint-Thégonnec ( Sant-Tegoneg into Breton) is a common Chef-lieu of canton of the department of the Finistere, in the area Brittany, in France.
The legend of the commune is the following one. Saint-Thégonnec used a stag to transport the stones necessary to the construction of the church. Unfortunately the stag was devoured by a wolf. The saint then drew up the wolf to transport his stone cart. The statue above the main entrance of the church represents this legend.
This legend is expressed besides in sculpture on the martyrdom of the parochial enclosure which illustrates also the passion of Christ.
The canton of Saint-Thégonnec gathers the communes of Cloister-Saint-Thégonnec, Loc-Eguiner-Saint-Thégonnec, Pleyber-Christ, Plounéour-Carry out, Saint-Thégonnec.

The parochial Enclosed of Saint-Thégonnec, very visited, gathers several remarkable elements:
the triumphal door (1587);
Seriously damaged in its northern part by a fire the June 8th 1998. Work of restoration took place during 7 years. The church found its gloss of antan given by its manufacturers and the many givers who continued to enrich his interior architecture.

In Saint-Thégonnec are thus breedings of Porc S and Bovin S which prevails. There are also cereal cultures like the Blé and the Maïs.
