Saint-Servan-on-Sea is an old French commune. It is located on the old Gallo-Roman city of Aleth.

In 1967, it amalgamated with the communes of Paramé and Saint-Malo; it is from now on a district of Saint-Malo.

Already, in 1920, the official name of common was modified of Saint-Servan in Saint-Servan-on-Sea .

Living a long time of fishing to cod and naval construction, Saint-Servan, in crisis because of the lack of transportation routes of the area about 1850, lives to leave number of its servannais towards California at the time of the Loterie of the gold ingots of 1851 to 1853, Cassagne, Miniac, Buisson, Boudan…
