Brasil Festival

This year (2007), it is the 2nd edition of Brasil Festival in the valley of Illette which is held at the beginning of June. The first of this event proceeded in 2005 on the occasion of “the year of Brazil in France”. This project saw the day thanks to association “Buccantropes” which wished to offer a project, a demonstration within this framework. From there was born “Brasil Festival”, one day festive, popular, dedicated, in Brazil, with the culture of this country, the culture of its people. A discovery which wanted to be opened, coloured, shared. For all people, all the ages. A free demonstration, which took place within a framework bucolic, pastoral, in the line “ethical Buccantropes”: popular, green, open. This festival is articulated around these some artistic fields: dance, savors, images and colors, sounds. Thus we can attend astonishing processions of schools of samba in the streets of Saint Saver of Landemont, the demonstrations of Capoeira and other choreographies. In parallel an illustrated report is exposed on Brazil, a country of which we have only “stereotypes at the head”. A simple exposure, intimist, and admiror of a country to the miles faces. Small voyage of the spirit and the eye. Follows the large ones counted, around a Brazilian traditional meal, and projection of a film, another cultural voyage. The ears are obviously not forgotten: traditional brass bands, percussions, songs, and mix of musics of Brazil and besides, still resound in the peaceful valley of Illette, sprinkled sun this day there. “Brasil Festival” fills its role, and that which Buccantropes fixed to him: a cultural activity(AP) innovating, interdisciplinary, opened with all, in the countryside, within the superb framework of Saint-Saver-of-Landemont.
