Geography
History
The borough of the commune of Saint Santin de Maurs has the effect of being juxtaposed with the borough éponyme of Saint-Santin, located in the department close to the Aveyron. The village is thus administratively cut into two. Division is old, the two communes result from two provinces: Auvergne and Rouergue. The Chart of Cassini (18th) watch already two communes of which Holy Santin of dead the , in Rouergue, today department of Aveyron, and " Saint Santin de Montmurat" in the Cantal. It is probable that they were separated by a Isoglosse: on a side the language Auvergnat E, other the Occitan. Each common has its church, with 20 meters one of the other, one Romance (Cantal), the other of the 19th (Aveyron), two town halls of course, two schools, but however only one war memorial, built on the departmental limit, which comprises a face for Cantalous and the other for Aveyronnais, died for the same fatherland.

Places and monuments
Except the 2 churches, which characterize the borough of St Santin, one notices the hill of Garenne. This calcareous outgrowth which dominates the village is of a badly known origin. It belongs to a whole of four emergences of comparable importance, which roughly speaking draw a line directed of North towards the South if one considers Garenne of St Santin, the hill of the lime kiln, Montmurat, and Montredon (46). They are solid masses karstic which precede the Quercy near, wedged between the coal basin of Decazeville, the general base hercynien and the volcanic grounds of the Cantal in North. Garenne, with its particular form and its timbered crown, does not pass unperceived on Google Earth, and constitutes a view-point and a place of walk appreciated, for the jonquils in February, the hazel nuts a little later, and the panoramic glance in any season. In against-low Garenne, to the place Gratacap says, was installed, before being recently dismounted, a ionospheric sounder, gigantic antenna which, with its equivalent installed to Nançay in the Sologne, was charged to listen to the universe, thus doing of Saint-Santin of Maurs one of the 2 only French sites of listening of the extraterrestrial signals.
