Saint-Rome-of-Tarn in Occitan Feels Roma (of Tarn) , is a common French, located in the department of the Aveyron and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called the Saint-Romans.

Geography

Saint-Rome-of-Tarn is located in the middle of the Raspes, in the valley of the Tarn (river). More precisely, the village is on a plate of Tuf, well with the top of the Tarn, on which runs a brook which flows in the Tarn after many Cascade S. the village is located at ten kilometers of Millau and with about fifteen Saint-Affrique.

History

  • the first appearance of the name of Saint-Rome-of-Tarn dates from the 5th century when Saint-Mercies left évangéliser the Rouergue.
  • At the 10th century, a castle-extremely, known as " tower grosse" , is built.
  • Fortified town of the Protestantism, the village is ruined after the Wars of religion.
