Saint-Rémy-the-valve

Saint-Rémy-the-Valve is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Saint-Rémois.

Geography

The commune of Saint-Remy cheese is located in the Brie known as dairy or of Morins. It is crossed by the valley of the Grand Morin. Near this river, one finds a water level arranged in base of leisures.

The habitat is largely dispersed. One finds a center including/understanding the buildings official (town hall, school, church), called the Borough and a score of the hamlets and farms isolated, most important are: Montmogis, Barlonge, the Cornea (more or less connected today to the Borough by the expansion of the habitat), the Mill of the Bridge, etc

There exist two schools with Saint-Rémy, one with the Borough for the primary educations, except for the CE2 and in Montmogis for CE2. The Saint-Remy cheese schools are gathered, within the framework of a RPI, with that of the village close to Saint-Siméon.

History

The local name of the commune is " Rémy saint of Vanne". The addition of this " de" is probably related to the Latin name of the commune which was " Sanctus Remigius de Venna" about the years 1150.

Economy

Events

Various events animate the commune. There are two secondhand trades (water level and Borough), the Treads of Morin (cf Sport). A great festival is organized each year for the opening of the base of leisure of the water level. Moreover, various animations (lottos, meal…) are organized on the initiative of associations of the village, among which most active is Recreates It.

Culture

The village has a library animated by the voluntary ones. Animations of the exposures type of art are sometimes organized. This commune is one of the last of the Seine and Marne to have a " Body of First Intervention" or CPI, i.e. a communal body sappers volunteer firemen.

Sports

The sporting main activity of the village is the canoe-kayak, practiced on Morin in the sector of the base of leisure of the water level.

A sports association of paintball is installed beside the base of leisures and organizes parts all the weekend.

Moreover, a race on foot called Foulées of Morin is organized each year for the children and school.
