Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse
Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at approximately 19 km in the North-East of Rambouillet.
The inhabitants are the Saint-Rémois and Saint-Rémoises .
Geography
The commune of Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse extends mainly in the valleys from the Yvette (the valley of Chevreuse) and from its affluent, Rhodon, and overflows on the surrounding plates. It is a partly urbanized commune (houses), but which preserves important surfaces boisées. It is in the perimeter of the Regional natural park of the high valley of Chevreuse.It is bordering on Chevreuse in the west, of Gif-sur-Yvette in the east, Boullay-les-Troux and the Molières in the south and of Milon-the-Vault, Magny-the-Hamlets and Villiers-le-Bâcle in north.
Transport
The Gare of Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse constitutes the terminus of the B4 branch of line B of the RER.Before the Second world war, this part of the current line of the RER was called the Ligne of Seals and was prolonged until Limours.
History
Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse owes his name with Saint Remi, bishop of Rheims towards 458.

- 1867 : opening of the station of Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse on the line of Paris-Limours Seals.
- 1938 : electrification of the Line of Seals and closing of the Saint-Rémy-Limours section (see external bond).
Culture
Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse accommodates the Foundation of Coubertin, created in 1973 by Yvonne de Coubertin, niece of the baron Pierre de Coubertin, and Jean Bernard, renovating of the Compagnonnage in France. The field of Coubertin comprises workshops and collections.
Monuments
- Saint-Remi-of-Rheims Church: church in grinding stone dating from the 12th century.
- Castle of Coubertin: built by Jean Freddy de Coubertin at the end of the 17th century. The castle, which belonged to the niece of Pierre de Coubertin shelters since 1980 the Jardin of bronzes which gathers bronzes of the school of French Sculpture.

House of Marta Side: built in 1960 by the architect Andre Wogenscky, it uses the Modulor Corbusier.

Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse is a primarily residential commune. It accommodates some industrial companies however:
