Saint-Rémy-of-Provence (in Occitan Of Provence: Sant Romieg de Provença according to the traditional standard or Sant Roumié de Prouvènço according to the Norme mistralienne) is a commune of the Rhone delta.
Collégiale Saint Martin's day this one dominates the place of the Republic. It was rebuilt after a collapse at the 19th century but preserved its Gothic bell-tower of the 14th century. One can see there two shutters of a Retable going back to 1503, one representing the Vierge and the child playing with a chain, and the other a bishop upright. It has a very beautiful organ.
District of the Planet. One little to admire the most beautiful architectural unit here exitant already at the time of Nostradamus. Hotel of Sade. This beautiful masonry initially belonged to the 15th century and the 16th century with the family of Fos counts de Provence whose girl married a family member of Sade (without direct relationship with the famous marquis) before being a center occupied by reformed 17th century.
Hotel of Lagoy. Old possession of the Lagoy family quoted as of the 10th century, rebuilt at the 17th century, it shelters the house of the Amandier.
Hotel of Almeran. Very beautiful private mansion of a family of notable 15th and 16th centuries whose goods were dispersed at the 18th century. Charles Gounod gave to it the first hearing of Mireille in 1863 in front of Frederic Mistral. This hotel shelters today works of the painter Jean Van Naeltwijks.
Fountain Nostradamus. Its Bust, work of the sculptor Ambroise Liotard, succeeded in 1859 that of Louis XVI on this very pretty fountain of traditional style.
Place Jean of Renaud family established in Saint-Rémy at the 16th century. Jean, architect with the service of François I {{er}}, was killed with the seat of Saint-Quentin in 1557 and was buried in the church Saint Martin's day.
the mount Gaussier. This top of the solid mass of the Alpilles dominates the site of glanum and the current city of Saint-Rémy-of-Provence. It was the Acropole of the oppidum salien which existed several centuries before the foundation of Glanum. current prince de Monaco, Albert II, carries among its many titles that of Saint-Remy cheese lord.
