Paul Valéry (1871-1945). It remained with the castle in the Isle-Manner at the time of the summer 1918, as secretary of Edouard Lebey, administrator of the Agence Havas, which had left the town of Paris then bombarded. It composed there the poems the Pythea , the Oarsman , Equinoxe , With the Plane tree , Air of Sémiramis , all pieces of the collection Charmes (1922), also illustrated by famous the marine Cimetière .
