Saint-Paul church of Frankfurt

The church Saint-Paul ( of Paulskirche ) is old a built Protestant church of Francfort-sur-le-Main 1789 with 1833.

It accommodated into 1848-1849 the meetings of the Parlement of Frankfurt, the first assembly freely elected in the German history, charged with writing a constitution for plain Germany after the Révolution of Mars.

Its association with the liberal and democratic spirit of 1848 in made a Lieu of memory of the German democracy. Destroyed during the Second world war, it was the first building with being rebuilt after the war. It is not since any more one place of worships and accommodates various demonstrations, in particular the annual handing-over of the Price of the peace of the German booksellers at the time of the Foire of the book of Frankfurt.
