Saint-Paul-of-Jarrat

Saint-Paul-with-Jarrat is a common French, located in the department of the Ariège and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called Saint-Paulois and Saint-Pauloises.
Geography
The commune is divided into five principal entities:
Saint-Paul de Jarrat (borough, seat of the town hall of the commune of the same name)
and its hamlets:

To 8 km of Foix, the commune of Saint Paul de Jarrat is located on the circumference of the Massif of Tabe.

In 1390, an enumeration of the County of Foix gives a report on 460 inhabitants on the commune of Saint Paul de Jarrat.
Economy
Principal industry is turned towards wood: sawmill and joineries Agriculture, formerly motive fluid of the economy, is about to disappear with the profit from town planning and the establishment from the moors… Although village-dormitory, the commune comprises artisanal activities and services. Activities with departmental vocation are established there: DDE, Services of water (SMDEA) or the Consular Training institute Ariège the Pyrenees (IFCAP) managed by the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Ariège.

Laundrette (1921) carried out by the architect Emile Sauret (who in other carried out the fountain-laundrettes of Pujols of Country house-with-Lordat and Saint-Tinder)
- Croix of wrought iron passion, place of the Cock (1781: created by the forging mill of Saint-Paul and the ironmaster Bauzil, father of Hyppolyte which would have said to Napoleon: " Ariège produces iron and soldats"
- Terminal Languedocien (XVIeme century) which marks the separation of the Province of Languedoc of the County of Foix (in limit of the communes of Those and Saint-Paul de Jarrat, not far from the smallholding of Bordeneuve)
- Eglise Saint-Germier (XVIeme century then altered), stalls of XVIIe coming from the Saint-Sernin abbey of Toulouse; remarkable fresco-monument with deaths
- Castle of Labat (ruined during the wars of religion, rebuilt at the beginning of the XVIIeme century and remaniè beginning XXe)
- Second feudal Castle (XVIeme century and XIIeme turn)
- Channel of the forging mill to the Catalan woman, taken on Scios (or Sios)
- Vestiges of the Trip hammer close to Langlade (old nail factory and trip hammer)
