Saint-Paul-in-Cornillon

Saint-Paul-in-Cornillon is a common French, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

The commune is built on the buttresses Is Massif Central, on banks of the Loire. The commune is located at approximately 17 km of Saint-Etienne.

History

The origins of Saint-Paul-in-Cornillon go back to the Moyen-âge, where a monastery is established on bank of the Loire. Today, testimony of the past, the Castle of Cornillon, whose first walls were set up at the 11th century, is drawn up at the top of the rock. Towards the end of the 14th century, it was rebuilt partly by the Lords of the Loire. Blotti around its castle, is the Borough of Cornillon, separated by the secondary road from the Borough of Saint-Paul who extends to the hollow from a meander from the the Loire.

These two boroughs and several hamlets constitute the Commune of Saint-Paul in Cornillon.
