Saint-P3eray wine

Saint-Péray in Occitan Sant Pèire of Have , is a common French, located in the department of the Ardèche and the area the Rhone-Alps. It belongs to the Agglomération of Valence.

Its inhabitants is called the Pérollaises Saint and the Pérollais Saint. This village is located at 5 km of Valence in the valley of the the Rhone.

Its market with the wines takes place each year, at the time of the first weekend of September.

On recognizes with the first the weapons of the lords of Crussol. The keys are classically emblematic of holy Pierre (" Saint-Péray" comes from " Saint-Pierre-in Ay").

Geography

With the foot of the hill of Crussol, in edge of the valley of the Rhone, Saint-Péray is since always a crossing point between the mountain ardéchoise and the plain of Valence. The village is crossed by Mialan, an affluent of the Rhone.

Crussol it is a solid mass and a castle. The solid mass of the Mountain of Crussol consists of geological layers of sedimentary origin superimposed in a very regular way and which one describes as series. Of share its capacity to store heat, limestone allows the establishment of plant species and animal Mediterranean in spite of the rather high latitude. The vegetation is made up for half of dry lawn and another half of green oak grove, moors on marnes, cliffs, fall on limestone and even of pubescent oak grove in small proportion. It is a small mountain stretched on three kilometers of North in the South. It represents a rather regular watershed whose altitude passes gradually from 306 to 406 meters. In the East-West direction, it seems a dissymmetrical solid mass initially: towards the East, a high calcareous cliff, overhanging falls, dominates the area valentinoise, while towards the West, the slope drops less brutally until Mialan, tributary of the Rhone.

History

The current village made its appearance towards XVe century, when the inhabitants left the fortifications of the castle of Crussol to come to live in the valley of Mialan. This new village took the name of Saint-Pierre d' Ay who, in local patois, gave Saint-Péray. During the French revolution of 1789, Saint-Péray temporarily changed name to become Péray White Wine (with the undeniable reputation of the white Saint-P3eray wine wine at that time). Today the commune of Saint-P3eray wine counts approximately 7000 inhabitants.

Vineyard

The Saint-Péray is a white wine sparkling pertaining to the vintages with the Côtes of the Rhone, prepared according to the “Champagne method”. There also exists in the form of a dry white wine “quiet”.

Located on Right Bank on the Rhone, the side Ardeche, with the height of Valence. The vineyard of a.O.C. Saint-P3eray wine is more in the south of the septentrional Coasts of the Rhone. The surface of name is limited to the commune of Saint-P3eray wine as to the district of Biguet which is on the commune bordering " Toulaud". A.O.C. Saint-P3eray wine counts approximately 70 hectares today. The output is of 45hl/ha with a natural minimum degree of 10% for the quiet ones and 9% for the effervescent ones.

Twinnings

Two cities are twinned with Saint Péray:

Located in the area of Hesse, to 45 km of Frankfurt, in edge of Odenwald, the town of Groß-Umstadt counts a population of 22.000 inhabitants. Born from the regrouping of 8 communes (Kleestadt, Klein-Umstadt, Richen, Semd, Raibach, Dorndiel, Heubach and Wiebelsbach), Groß-Umstadt offers a great quality of life.

ESA, small town of 3.150 inhabitants of the area of the Lakes, in the North of Italy is located in the area of Lombardy, with a score of kilometers of Like. The high wooded hills which surround the city, brood in the middle of the valley of Vallassina, make it resemble a village of mountain.

Saint Péray and the city of signed a pact of friendship in 1991, bringing together which is explained by the twinning which respectively binds the two cities to Groß-Umstadt.

Santo-Tirso is located in the North of Portugal, a few kilometres from Oporto and of the Atlantic coast, Santo-Tirso is a relatively important city since it counts approximately 17.000 inhabitants. It is in addition the place chief of a canton made up of 31 communes.
