Saint-Nazaire-on-Charente is a common French, located in the department of the Charente-Maritime and the area Poitou-Charentes.

  • September 19th, 1947: The commune separates from its western part. This separation creates the commune of Port-des-Barques.

  • the Fountain Saint-Nazaire (1676) , where the ships of the King came to be supplied in Fresh water by leaving the arsenal of Rochefort (see Histoire of Rochefort).
