Saint-Michel-on-Meurthe is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.
Its inhabitants is called Michellois.
Geography
The commune of Saint-Michel occupies left bank of the Meurthe in the north of the solid mass of the High Jacques. It joins together many very dispersed hamlets, the Center , Bréhimont , Herbaville , Sauceray , them Feignes , connected by a somewhat anarchistic roadway system because of the irregularities of the relief and broadside of new dwellings.An artisanal zone was delimited near RN 59, offering approximately 600 employment, in particular in the fields of the plastic and the clothes industry of compact disks.
History
The unit of the commune was done around the church built on an eminence, the Belmont . This place was previously a place of worship dedicated to the Belenos Gallic then with the Gallo-Roman Mercure.The name of Belmont was taken again to indicate the commune under the Revolution.
