The Château of Saint-Mesmin-the-city (located on the commune of Saint-Andre-on-Separates) is an old medieval fortress (XIVe century), provided with a keep of 28 m (built in XVe century).

The castle is opened with the public the summer and of medieval animations are organized there.

Georges Simenon lived in 1942 and 1943 in Saint-Mesmin (avenue of the Mounts).
