Saint-Maurice-in Ibie

Geography

Long from about thirty kilometers, the valley of Ibie is born with the foot from Coiron in Villeneuve de Berg and ends with the meeting of Ardeche. Its river is a true wadi drained the major part of the year. Many walls of houses are built with the rollers carted by Ibie. History

Saint Maurice d' Ibie is in the middle of the valley of Ibie. It is the Saint-Maurice church which gave its name to the village. Very damaged during the wars of religion, it nevertheless preserved its Romance porch at large concentric vaussures. This one is surmounted by a carved archstone appearing a chrism surrounded by a fine twist. One will notice inside the church, a half-cupola painted at the XIXè century of naive medallions. The hamlet of Salelles is attached to Saint-Maurice d' Ibie. In spite of the destruction in the Thirties several passages arched during the installation of the road, the hamlet has beautiful remainders. The wine also forms part of the richness of our soil, come to taste it: A wine grower sells his wine in particular cellar: " The Farmhouse of Labégude".

The other wine growers of the commune are co-operators in the cellars of common neighbors: The Cooperative wine cave of Montfleury to Villeneuve de Berg, and the Vault of Small valley Bridge of Arc. You will find a whole type of vine range there: syrah, merlot, cabernet, pinot, grenache for the reds, sauvignon white, viognier, chardonnay for the white. To note exceptional quality and very appraisal of the " Grape harvest of Octobre" , astonishing liqueur-like wine, as well as many other vintages which await you to be tasted!
