Saint-Martin-of-Ash is a common French, located in the department of the Ain and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
The territory of the commune, rather vast, is delimited by the communes of Brion, Port, Nantua, Brénod, Chevillard, Maillat, Peyriat and Nurieux-Volognat. The village, located in the plain of Oignin is encircled in the West by the mountain of Colléjard and in the East by the Plate of Taws and the Mounts of Ain.
History
The official orthography drawn from the nomenclature of the communes is " Frêne" with a circumflex accent: it is that of the charts and the official documents. Nevertheless the local use is " Fresne" (including on the control panels at the entry of the agglomeration)
