Saint-Manvieu-Norrey

Geography

The village extends to the west from Caen, distant of ten kilometer of the prefecture and a small score of the capital of the bessin (Bayeux). At the hinge of the bessin and plain of Caen.St Manvieu-Norrey is located near to the highway axis Caen Cherbourg at the north and approximately 2 km of A84 in the south. Near to the airport Caen Carpiquet it also has a railway halt on the Paris-Cherbourg line.

History

The commune was released the June 26th 1944 by the troops Scottish after violent one engagements against the troops S.

Fusion between Norrey in bessin and Saint Manvieu took place in 1972.Les mayors of L time were Mrs. DEGASTEBLET for Norrey and Mr. YMOF for St Manvieu
