Saint-Louis-the-Bitche
Saint-Louis-the-Bitche (in German Münzthal ) is a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.
It is especially known for its Cristallerie Saint-Louis.
Its inhabitants are called Ludoviciens and the Ludoviciennes .
Geography
In country covered, in a small valley boxed dug by the brook of Saint-Louis and its Affluent S, the Village is a recent creation dependant on the installation of the glassmaking and a late Défrichement.With leaving the Forest of Dürrenwald , the Route coming from Lemberg leads to deep a small valley. History
The origin of the Village of Saint-Louis comes from the establishment of a first glassmaking with the locality Münzthal , the Vallée of the monks, in 1586. She is explained by the abandonment of the Verrerie of Holbach the preceding Année. The Guerre Thirty Year old causes devastations in the area and the glassmaking cease its activities in the middle of the 17th century. In 1767, two lawyers with the Lorraine Court sovereign of and Barrois, Rene-François Jolly and Pierre-Etienne Ollivier, obtains the authorization of the king Louis XV of ressusciter old the Industrie.
