Saint-Julien-Chapteuil is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Loire and the area Auvergne.

History

In 1733, Jean Pierre de Surrel, sgr of St Julien (1686-1756) acquired of this stronghold. Saint-Julien-Chapteuil remained in possession of the family of Surrel de Saint Julien until the French revolution, that is to say more than one half-century.

  • Jules Romans, of his true name Louis Henri Jean Farigoule (August 26th, 1885 with Saint-Julien-Chapteuil - August 14th, 1972 in Paris), French writer.
  • Of 1960 until 1979, lived Nicole Reymond native this village which seen obliged to leave it to continue its studies hostpitalières on the side of Lyon. From now on resident with Grand' Cross (the Loire), where its life proceeds like a long quiet river (Gier ramplaçant the river). His/her children Maxime and Alexandre live in the area.
