Appearance of Joseph saint
June 7th, 1660, a shepherd named Gaspard Ricard, whereas it is with its herd on the slope of Bessillon, is assoiffé. He suddenly sees a man on a rock which says to him: " I am Joseph, removes the rock and you boiras." Gaspard removes the rock without problem and drinks. It leaves to prevent the village which runs, knowing well that there is no water at this place. One will then need ten men to remove the rock that Gaspard had raised only.
Construction of the church
August 9th, 1660 begins at this place the construction of a vault dedicated to holy Joseph. This vault is quickly too small because of the multitude. One decides the construction of a larger church (the current church) in 1661, which is devoted in 1663.
Cotignac
For the Church, Cotignac is a single place in the world since she recognizes that there were two appearances of the Virgin Mary and an appearance of Saint Joseph. One thus venerates in Cotignac the Virgin Mary and holy Joseph and by extension all the Holy Family.
