Etymology
Alternatives of the name of holy Georges.
With the Middle Ages, the village was called Macelum , coming from a monk, named Jore , which gave initially Macelum de Saint-Jeore . The name derived to give Saint-Jorioz today.

- Saint-Jorioz enjoys a strategic situation between the Massif of Semnoz and the Lac of Annecy. Via the collar of Leschaux, it also makes it possible to reach the Massif of the Wallows.
