Saint-Jeoire-priory

Saint-Jeoire-Priory , " Sant Jouère" in Savoyard patois, is a common French, located in the department of the Savoy and the area the Rhone-Alps. Its inhabitants are the Jeoriens Saint.

Village born around the priory founded in 1110 by St Bruno, under the term of Georges Saint.

Priory built with the XIIe century, it remains only the church which is classified historic building since 1952.

Hill St Michel: this headland is divided by four communes of which Saint Jeoire (Curienne, Barby, Shawl-the-Water). A vault built in 1879, occupies the top of the hill. Are there also the vestiges of another vault, which lets think of a very old occupation of the place.
