Saint-Jean-of-the-Forest is a common French, located in the department of the Orne and the area Basse-Normandie.
Geography
History
Cité au 10th. The martyrdoms of Jean saint of the Forest, except for the small monument of the Mariette, of which the origin could not be still today established in an unquestionable way, were built between the years 1901 and 1922. This time, where Europe was with fire and blood, was in particular marked by the exaltation of the religious feelings and patriotic. The inscriptions and dedications which are reproduced on these martyrdoms carry the trace from there. Under the ministry for the Goblet Abbot, the martyrdoms set up with darkest of the war greet the cross and call only with the prayer. Those which were it after the victory add to the devotion, the patriotic homage and the recognition with its combatants. The Commune counts of it setp of which one commemorates the war of 1870…
