Saint-Jean-of-Beauregard

History
The history of Saint-Jean-of-Beauregard is rich, in spite of the small size of the village.
In 1162, Nantier d' Orsay with the assent of his/her daughter, gives to the abbey of are worth of Cernay, all its ground of Bussière (barn to the monks), with load by the monks to be used two to him muids as corn.
Philippe Auguste confirms the fifth year of his reign (1183), the donation in aumosne made to the priory of Longpont, of a wood portion of Assembles falconis, in the stronghold of the roy, which had been given to him by Béatrice de Pierrefond.

François Dupoux, lawyer with the council of the king, becomes lord of the place in 1612. A new castle (the current castle) is then built in the place of the ruins of Montfaucon which faced the old castle of Montlhéry. The new lord of the places requests from Louis XIII the substitution of the name of Montfaucon, disaster re-elected, in Beauregard. The king orders the name change of the place of Saint-Jean-with-Monfaucon in Saint-Jean-with-Beauregard .
François Garnier, rider, go purchaser of the field in 1638. Then, the field passes in the hands of Charles Doullet de Neufville, then of Gabriel de Mehertin of Saint Pierre, then into 1669 of an adviser of the King, Pierre of the Fly.
Hundred years later the castle is sold in Laurent Charron, General Receveur of the Fields and Forêts of the general information of Paris (bapt. 8/16/1678, Orleans, + Paris 1751). Francoise Matagon, her widow, only remains main field. Inhabitant Holy-Avoye street in Paris, it makes his country house of it. She dies in 1768 and her only son, Laurent Charron (bapt. 1706) die in its turn the following year. The castle and field are allocated to the third girl of this last, Francoise-Melanie Charron, wife of Victor-Amédée d' Auberjon, count de Murinais, sergeant, brigadier, knight of Saint-Louis. The park evolves timidly then to the English fashion. The castle is bequeathed in 1866 to Mr. Four Solz de Marolles, then in 1879 the count then duke of Caraman buys the field. The current owners belong to the Caraman family.
