In 1593, the duke of Lesdiguières buys the grounds of the field. Nicolas de Gril, lord of Saint-Michel-with-Chaillol, becomes owner in 1674 about it. The family preserved it during two centuries, before losing it with the profit of Baille of Champoléon, whose descendants are the owners still today.

The crenelated towers of the castle of origin disappeared, and various rehandlings were operated with the XVI° century. But essentially the building has escaped with the destruction, and in particular with the devastations of the wars of religion, which made disappear so much from buildings, of which the castle close to Montorcier.
